New technology was unveiled at Logan Airport today, and should make the airport safer. The system is designed to prevent so-called runway incursions. The new automated runway light warning technology is kind of like a local stop light in your neighborhood, if something is in the way it goes on.
It has been online at Logan since October 5th and is not only another layer of safety for pilots but it also helps unburden air traffic controllers who, at the end of the day remain the most important safety link for the 26 million passengers who pass through logan airport every year.
