Google owned-Motorola Mobility has expanded its tablet portfolio with the addition of Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition. Both the tablets run on Android 3.2 Honeycomb and are powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system is the tablet-optimised version of Android.
Other common features of the two tablets include 1 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of storage. They will each pack a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, and LED flash. They also include 1.3 megapixel user-facing cameras for video chats.
Both offer support for Google services, such as Gmail, Google Maps, Google Calendar, Google Talk and Android browser. The main difference between the two tablets is that Motorola Xoom 2 sports a 10.1-inch display, while Motorola Xoom 2 Media edition sports a 8.2-inch display. The Xoom 2 also includes 3D virtual surround sound and comes in a much slimmer form factor.
The tablets will be available first in UK and Ireland and are expected to hit the stores sometime in mid-November. The global availability is yet to be confirmed and so is its pricing.
