Pakistani mobile operator Ufone has restored Facebook and Twitter apps for BlackBerry users after developing a content filtering service. The company blocked Facebook and Twitter services since May 2010 but has now developed a filtering solution that can block specific pages on websites, in consultation with the maker of the BlackBerry phones, Research in Motion (RIM), the Express Tribune writes citing a source within the company. In May 2010, the Lahore High Court ordered the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to block Facebook and other websites containing blasphemous content. However, as RIM did not have the technology to only block specific pages, certain sites were blocked for BlackBerry users altogether.
