Google Chrome Hits Version 4 For Microsoft Windows

Google’s Chrome web browser has enjoyed a steadily rising popularity, offering reliability and functionality that users found quite a welcome change from older, clunkier web browsers. Google Chrome 4.0 is still in its BETA stages but what we’re seeing is quite promising.

Google Chrome Hits Version 4 For Microsoft Windows

Perhaps the biggest new feature in Chrome 4.0 is bookmark syncing. Originally released last August for Chrome’s developer version, it’s not available for all users. Now web surfers can synchronize their bookmarks to their Google accounts, so they can later access their bookmarks on a different computer (of course, using Chrome’s Bookmark Sync feature on the other PC).

Another upgrade is the ability to run extensions, which was blatantly absent in Chrome’s earlier versions. Google Chrome 4.0 Beta still doesn’t have the ability, but Google has promised its availability in the final version.

The only bad news about the development is that Google is STILL working on an Apple Mac version of the Chrome. Mike Pinkerton, Chrome Program Manager, and his team are currently hard at work working out the kinks in the Mac version, and should have some good use for Mac users in the near future.
